Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

• Assist Pharmacists: Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in the practice of pharmacy, including reviewing and processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records.
• Operate Pharmacy Systems: You will be responsible for operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and manage inventory.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service: You will engage with customers and patients, providing a positive and welcoming experience, and resolving any issues or concerns they may have.
• Maintain a Clean and Organized Pharmacy: You will ensure the pharmacy is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
• Support Inventory Management: You will assist in leading pharmacy department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Develop Strong Relationships: You will develop strong relationships with customers, patients, and healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

• PTCB Certification: You must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or be willing to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• Work Experience: You must have at least one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Communication Skills: You must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Flexibility: You must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

• Walgreens Experience: Prior work experience with Walgreens is preferred.
• Basic Math Skills: Basic math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications, are preferred.
• Basic PC Skills: Basic level PC skills, including starting and shutting down computers, using mice to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing information online, are preferred.
• Inventory Control Knowledge: Knowledge of store inventory control is preferred.
