Key Details:
  • Specialty: Pediatric General and Trauma Surgery

Schedule:
  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Call Requirements: 24-hour call, approximately 8 shifts per month

Patient Care:
  • Demographics: Pediatric trauma patients (up to 15 years old)
  • Patient Volume: 10-15 patients daily

Support Staff:
The position includes a robust support team consisting of 4 RNs, 2-4 MAs, 4 APPs, and 10 office staff members.

Procedural Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a variety of surgical procedures, including:
  • Laparoscopic, breast, and liver surgeries
  • Chest wall and pleural procedures
  • Upper and lower GI endoscopy
  • Minor orthopedic procedures
  • Vent management and line insertions
  • Management of abdominal wall defects and umbilical defects
  • Diaphragmatic hernia and imperforate anus cases

Facility Information:
  • Department Capacity: 21 beds
  • EMR System: Cerner

Requirements:
Candidates must possess an active Florida medical license, board certification, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be provided.
