We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Construction Estimator to join our team at Pieper Houston Electric.

As an Electrical Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for developing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects. This will involve reviewing project specifications, identifying materials and labor requirements, and establishing estimated costs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, excellent communication and organization skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects
  • Review project specifications and identify materials and labor requirements
  • Evaluate schedules and durations to determine project timelines
  • Analyze material and tool requirements to estimate costs
  • Maintain accurate records of estimated projects and award status

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and 2 years of estimating experience; OR equivalent experience in electrical construction industry and estimating experience in lieu of education
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification is a plus
  • At least 1 year in electrical or construction estimating
  • Knowledgeable in all current electrical codes and how to verify work is completed accordingly
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, and/or institutional projects
  • Knowledge of electrical construction principles, construction estimating, cost controls, and subcontract administration
  • Working knowledge of cost controls and subcontract administration
  • Ability to read architectural plans/blueprints, understand specifications, and other bid documents
  • Ability to research and recall local city and county code requirements for interior packages
  • Ability to manage assigned projects, workflow, and resources to ensure proposals are delivered on-time

  • Communication: Excellent customer service and communication skills and also liaise efficiently with clients, contractors, and management
  • Attention to detail: Ability to efficiently review information and complete projects accurately
  • Organization: Able to maintain composure in order to work effectively under pressure and also meet up with tight deadlines
  • Mathematical and analytical: Comfortable with numbers and analytics and able to provide the company accurate information that will operations and strategic planning

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
