Position Summary:

The Inventory Management Specialist is tasked with ensuring the precision of inventory records, coordinating internal shipments, setting up inventory storage locations, and nurturing relationships with essential personnel at Cornerstone Building Brands facilities and suppliers. This role is vital for the timely and competitive acquisition of materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Operations Managers, and Plant Managers to designate specific locations and labels for all materials within the facility.
  • Coordinate with Internal Logistics Teams to efficiently transfer materials to other facilities as required.
  • Analyze inventory transactions to maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and movements to ensure sufficient stock is available to meet customer needs.
  • Receive and log materials into the inventory management system.
  • Work alongside the Supply Chain Team to recommend optimal inventory levels.
  • Oversee the cycle counting program to ensure accuracy.
  • Compile monthly consumables counts for reporting.
  • Identify root causes and implement process improvements for inventory discrepancies.
  • Review inventory reports and make necessary adjustments to maintain balance.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management regarding product selections and inventory levels to enhance profitability.
  • Maintain inventory documentation in line with company policies.
  • Assist in managing certificates of origin and material test reports for completed projects.
  • Support compliance during audits.
  • Lead physical inventory activities at the site.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in inventory control within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and data entry.
  • Ability to operate with precision in a dynamic environment.
  • Quick thinking and adaptability to unplanned situations.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret a range of documents requiring significant inference.
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
