Grafton, Massachusetts, United States Tufts University Full time

The Department of Clinical Sciences at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is seeking a highly skilled assistant professor or assistant clinical professor in Diagnostic Imaging, with a strong background in equine ultrasound.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of board-certified radiologists, ultrasonographers, residents, and technicians in the Diagnostic Imaging service, which serves both the Foster Hospital for Small Animals and the Hospital for Large Animals.

The Diagnostic Imaging service features state-of-the-art equipment, including an MRI suite equipped with a 3 T Siemens unit and a Canon Exceed LB, providing mm slices and modified with the Qalibra system to accommodate standing equine studies.

The section has a fully equipped radiology and fluoroscopy suite, two C-Arms, and two DR small animal radiology suites, one DR large animal radiology room, and one nuclear medicine suite.

The DI section works closely with the large animal ultrasound and sports medicine service, including shared rounds and research collaborations.

Clinical responsibilities include provision of diagnostic imaging service, instruction of clinical-year students, and supervision of interns and residents in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging.

Faculty members are expected to engage in research and scholarly activity, with the amount of time dedicated depending on the interests and capabilities of the faculty member and the faculty track.

Excellent opportunities exist to build clinical and translational research collaborations with researchers on all three campuses of Tufts University, within the New England medical community, and beyond.

Candidates must hold a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of an American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) approved residency is required.

ACVR or ECVDI board-certification is required at, or not later than two years following, the date of hire. Expertise in equine imaging, especially ultrasound, is considered an asset.

The candidate should also possess effective communication skills, have demonstrated ability to work in a team, and be committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive community.

The appointment may be in the professor or clinical professor track, depending on the qualifications and interests of the successful applicant.
