Recreational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team at the Arizona State Veteran Home in Phoenix. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs that meet the unique needs and abilities of our residents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical and administrative records, including therapy plans, progress notes, and assessment reports.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that promote the overall health and well-being of our residents.
• Transport residents to and from community outings and events, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in recreational therapy, incorporating new ideas and techniques into your practice as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Activities Therapy Manager.

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
• Professional certification in recreational therapy, such as the Certified Recreation Therapist (CRT) or the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to drive on State business.
• Ability to obtain and retain an AZDPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
