Job Summary

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Air Methods' policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, completing pre-flight checks and verifying the aircraft's airworthiness.
  • Final authority for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment, with a thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems.
  • Responsible for completion of required documentation and conducting detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
  • Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
Requirements
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft), with an ATP rating in category meeting this requirement.
  • First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
