Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire alarm and detection systems for our nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop fire alarm and detection systems, including production of drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Support construction, startup, and testing of fire protection systems.
- Review vendor drawings and submittals, and provide technical support to site construction forces.
- Prepare data sheets, statements of work, procurement specifications, and design build specifications.
- Develop and implement creative solutions to assigned problems, and scope technical tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals.
- Perform all detail work necessary to determine best solutions, and evaluate proposals and make recommendations.
- Graduate of an accredited fire protection engineering curriculum, or Registered Professional Engineer in Fire Protection, or Full member in the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), or NICET Level III certification in the applicable subfield.
- Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
- Proficient using 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software, MicroStation is a plus.
- Working knowledge of standard engineering/scientific practices and applications.
