Position Summary

The Mammographer plays a crucial role in our imaging team, with responsibilities that include:
  • Conducting screening and diagnostic mammograms
  • Performing essential quality assurance checks on imaging equipment
  • Assisting physicians during biopsy procedures as required
  • Delivering exceptional patient care while prioritizing safety for both patients and staff
  • Collaborating with physicians and their offices to ensure optimal patient care
Qualifications

Education & Certification
  • Completion of an accredited 2 or 4-year program in Sonography recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Registered Technologist in Mammography specialty with tomosynthesis qualifications.
  • DEXA registry is necessary for Mammographer II roles.
  • Stereotactic experience is preferred.
Ongoing Education Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is mandatory during orientation before providing patient care. Current BLS certification must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Maintenance of Registered Technologist status is required, including continuing medical education (CME) as mandated by the accrediting body.
  • Completion of annual training as provided by the health system.
