About the Role:

The Dietary Cook at Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the highest quality dining experience for our residents while providing a nutritious diet. This role requires a strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare menus in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Inspect special diet trays to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including completing forms and reports, and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless dietary service.
  • Collaborate with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician, and Supervisors to implement recommended changes and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Assist in establishing food service production lines to ensure timely meal preparation.
  • Process diet changes and new diets received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
  • Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils and equipment are readily available for the next meal.
  • Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.
  • Supervision is provided by the Dietary Manager.
