The EVS Technician position at Titus Regional Medical Center is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining a healthy and clean environment by performing routine cleaning functions, including dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique and participate in timely and efficient room turnover.
- Clean and polish mirrors, glass partitions, doors, and other interior glass surfaces.
- Scour, clean, or polish bathtubs, showers, lavatories, or other fixtures and walls, counters, or other surfaces.
- Replenish bathroom supplies of paper towels, soap, and other items from storage.
- Dispose of waste in specific containers as required.
- Operate mechanical equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and other carpet cleaning equipment, after appropriate instructions.
- Complete work assignments within an acceptable time frame and use time and resources to the best possible advantage for successful completion of job responsibilities.
- Strictly adhere to hospital policies regarding hand hygiene, universal precautions, and personal protective equipment.
- Use proper body mechanics and safety devices to lift and transport safely.
- Understand the protocol for responding to emergency situations and the importance of remaining calm in this situation.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, and education requirements as assigned.
- Communicate all pertinent information, including problems, concerns, or ideas, to the Lead EVS Technician or EVS Manager in a timely and effective manner.
- Promote a constructive/positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with and assist fellow TRMC team members.
- Lead by example and always model the attributes of TRMC Leadership.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive work demeanor.
- Follow and adhere to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Two years of experience in environmental services and/or acute care related service departments preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The EVS Technician will be required to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the hospital. The position also requires the ability to lift, carry, and push/pull equipment and supplies.
