Job Title: Substitute Paraprofessional

An ESS substitute paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting students with special needs, promoting academic and personal growth in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups, fostering a deeper understanding of curriculum concepts.
  • Assist the classroom teacher with classroom management and general supervision, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials, contributing to the smooth operation of the classroom.
  • Supervise students in various settings, including the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, and during before and after school programs, promoting a culture of responsibility and respect.
  • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, providing a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
  • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans, ensuring individualized attention and care.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Criminal History Clearance
  • Tuberculosis Test
