Siena Francis House is seeking a dedicated Women's Shelter Staff Specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the well-being and safety of our shelter guests. As a Women's Shelter Staff Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing agency policies and procedures in emergency shelter environments, providing exceptional support and supervision to Miracles work program participants, and maintaining accurate documentation through HMIS and other reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modeling Agency Standards: Embody Siena Francis House's mission statement in all interactions with emergency shelter guests, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Guest Support: Collaborate with guests to complete mutual expectations review forms, problem-solving forms, and notice to vacate premises documents as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete assigned tasks, including HMIS data entry, facility condition checklists, and other duties, following established protocols.
  • Rapport Building and Referrals: Establish positive relationships with guests, familiarize yourself with their housing plans, and facilitate connections to other service providers when possible.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Knowledge and ability to operate in alignment with general principles of trauma-informed care.
  • Flexibility and Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with guests and colleagues.
  • Emergency Shelter Environment: Understanding of emergency shelter environments and the ability to work effectively within them.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (email, word, excel) and ability to use software such as HMIS, requiring Clarity training within 60 days of employment.
Work Environment

The work environment at Siena Francis House is an office setting with varying temperatures and noise levels. Employees are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and adapt to shifting priorities and physical demands.

Estimated Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
