Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Chechen/Russian Linguist to join our team at Acclaim Technical Services. As a linguist, you will be responsible for translating documents into English and providing consecutive interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Translate a variety of documents, including technical and non-technical materials, from Chechen/Russian to English.
- Provide consecutive interpretation services for clients and colleagues.
- Conduct research to stay up-to-date on cultural and linguistic developments in the Chechen/Russian world.
- Collaborate with other linguists and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and high-quality translations.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the cultural and linguistic nuances of the Chechen/Russian language.
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- BA/BS Degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field
- Proficiency in Chechen/Russian and English languages, with a strong understanding of cultural and linguistic nuances
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel worldwide, including to war zones and austere locations
Preferred Skills
- Experience working as a linguist for the US Government or military
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other translation software
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute in English and Chechen/Russian
- Medical fitness to travel to all areas
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide constructive feedback
