Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in various inpatient and outpatient settings, collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams, and performing clinical, teaching, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of diagnoses, including post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic, and traumatic conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform clinical, teaching, and administrative duties as required.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to therapy assistants, clinical students, and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate and concise patient care documentation and billing in accordance with system, hospital, and department policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program or equivalent and a Master's degree.
  • No experience required, but one to two years of experience in an academic or large medical center-based practice is preferred.
  • Current unencumbered license or temporary permit to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Connecticut.
  • Membership in the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) is required.
Working Conditions

The Speech and Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers. The individual should be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the wrist, fingers, or hands. The worker may be exposed to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases.

Additional Information

This is a per diem position, and the Speech and Language Pathologist will be required to work on an as-needed basis. The individual should be willing and able to assume increased responsibilities as required.
