POSITION SUMMARY:

The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the documentation and processing of customer orders for distribution. This role collaborates with shipping personnel and customer service representatives to ensure efficient inbound and outbound logistics. The supervisor also investigates discrepancies and recommends solutions for any non-conformance issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inventory accuracy by correcting discrepancies and monitoring inventory locations. Conduct monthly raw material counts and cycle counts.
  • Update the freight management system as necessary.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and drivers to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing contents with records such as manifests and invoices. Manage daily scheduling for all deliveries and shipments.
  • Monitor shipping operations, ensuring that the correct documentation is provided to drivers and that they are directed to the appropriate docking areas. Work closely with the warehouse team to facilitate timely loading and unloading of shipments.
  • Ensure all shipping bills of lading (BOLs) are matched with corresponding documentation and stored appropriately for record-keeping.
  • Oversee the preparation of outgoing shipments, including scheduling and documentation for various shipping methods.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments and prepare necessary documentation in the logistics management system.
  • Monitor customer orders daily, generating reports on delivery planning and inventory aging. Collaborate with customer service and warehouse teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with FIFO (First In, First Out) practices in the warehouse, including product reservation and preparation of necessary documentation for loading.
  • Record shipment details such as weight, charges, and discrepancies for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Liaise with carrier representatives to provide shipping and delivery instructions.
  • Facilitate the delivery of materials to relevant departments using appropriate equipment.
  • Communicate with sales and customer service teams to resolve issues related to damages, shortages, and specifications.
  • Assist customer service and sales teams with inventory inquiries and related concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

RECEIVING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all recurring purchase orders.
  • Receive and document all packages from shipping carriers.
  • Oversee the receipt of raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Handle all less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments.
  • Process returns and adjustments for items due to pricing changes or discrepancies.

AUTHORITY LEVEL:

Lead all shipping protocols and practices within the organization.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse shipping environment.
