Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Mathiowetz Construction Co. as a Heavy Equipment Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and servicing a wide variety of light, medium, and heavy automotive equipment and machinery.

• Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex issues with heavy equipment, including bulldozers, motor graders, scrapers, front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, backhoes, packers, belly dump trucks, side dump trucks, and end dump trucks.
• Shop Operations: Operate various types of shop equipment and machinery, including lifts, presses, and welding equipment.
• Tire Service: Change tires and repair flat tires on heavy equipment and trucks.
• Supervision: May supervise a team of shop crew members during the winter maintenance season.

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Post-Secondary Education: Post-secondary degree in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License: Class A Commercial Vehicle Driver's License with tanker, double, triple, and Hazardous Material endorsements is required.
• Driver's License: Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
• Availability: Must be available for overtime shifts as needed.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving and mechanical skills are required.
