We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Baton Rouge General. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with clinicians to deliver high-quality resident care and promote a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Assist with routine and assigned tasks, including providing direct resident care and supporting the treatment team.
- Document resident responses to therapy and significant occurrences, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team conferences and contribute to resident care planning.
- Assist in de-escalating distressed residents and provide support during crisis situations.
- Maintain a clean and safe resident care environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with security and therapeutic activities.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- 3 months of experience in a substance abuse setting desired, with 2 years of working experience preferred.
- Education in a mental health-related field may be substituted for experience.
- Training in crisis prevention and CPR desired.
