Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in our Progressive Care Unit. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for closely monitoring patients' conditions, particularly those with complex medical needs. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating vital signs and implementing life-saving measures as necessary.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing acutely ill patients and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Progressive Care Nurse, you will be tasked with the critical responsibility of interpreting vital signs and facilitating timely interventions to prevent complications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess patient charts, medication protocols, and diagnostic results upon entry to the unit.
  • Monitor essential vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Utilize specialized medical equipment to interpret patient data accurately.
  • Administer prescribed medications and adjust dosages as required.
  • Conduct thorough assessments in response to changes in patient conditions.
  • Communicate any deteriorating health statuses to the appropriate healthcare professionals and execute intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and support personnel within the unit.
  • Provide clear explanations of treatments and procedures to patients and their families, addressing any inquiries they may have.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit, Intermediate Care, or Step Down Unit is preferred.
  • Active RN license in the relevant state.
  • Proficient in measuring and interpreting vital signs and other clinical data.
  • Thorough understanding of medication titration techniques and medical interventions.
  • Ability to adhere to detailed protocols and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare best practices and accurate medical recordkeeping.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to support and educate patients and their families.
