Role Responsibilities
The Telemetry Nurse is responsible for managing patient assignments and taking on primary care duties that enhance health, prevent illness, restore well-being, and alleviate suffering for patients transitioning from intensive care but still needing close observation for any signs of distress or risk. Telemetry nurses employ advanced medical technology to continuously monitor patients' vital signs within their unit. They work alongside physicians to formulate treatment strategies for patients in the telemetry setting. Key vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and cardiac electrical activity are monitored using specialized equipment, and telemetry nurses are tasked with tracking this data and responding promptly to any complications that may arise. Primarily, telemetry nurses care for patients recovering from cardiac conditions or surgeries.
