Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Neurosurgery Technician to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a key member of our clinical support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in preparing patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Obtain and prepare patient films, reports, and other medical records for physician review.
  • Remove staples, sutures, and external fixation devices as ordered by physicians.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for processing, including venipuncture and C & S.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and instruct patients on cast, splint, and dressing care.
  • Transport and transfer patients as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Take vital signs, complete patient history information, and assist with procedures and injections as ordered by physicians.
  • Manage clinic and hospital-wide activities, including phone usage, appointments, data entry, and patient transport.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness and prepare necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Perform POCT procedures as trained and instructed.
  • Order medical supplies according to clinical standards.
  • Document incidents and dispose of contaminated and disposable items properly.
  • Ensure patient information is scanned and medical records are complete with all reports prior to patient visits.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • 3-4 years of experience in advanced cases preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Work Schedule and Type

5 days, 8 hours per day. Full-time position.
