The Corporate Accountant plays a vital role in collaborating with executive management, ensuring the precise reporting of financial data. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of federal and multi-state tax regulations.

*This position requires full-time on-site presence and may necessitate relocation for candidates not currently residing in the area.

About the Role

As a Corporate Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Upholding high professional standards and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive company information.
  • Demonstrating extensive expertise in multi-state sales and use tax, as well as fuel tax compliance, including the preparation and submission of returns.
  • Conducting thorough research to ascertain economic nexus implications.
  • Maintaining precise and current financial records, encompassing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reimbursements.
  • Supporting management and external CPA firms during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reviewing financial statements.
  • Executing month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing activities promptly, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency.
  • Analyzing financial data and generating reports to assist the executive team in decision-making.
  • Advising leadership on financial risks and challenges that could affect the organization's profitability.
  • Approaching challenges with a constructive and positive attitude.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • A strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality and understand its significance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, coupled with outstanding organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software, with a preference for Sage 50.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
