Job Summary

The Alverno Early Learning Center seeks a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early learning standards and promote children's growth and development.
  • Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team members to ensure a cohesive and effective educational experience.
  • Plan and execute individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies, state regulations, and national accreditation standards.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment, including adherence to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants to ensure they are following planned activities and adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Complete 25 hours of approved continuing education per year.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development.
  • Willingness to acquire Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and hold children up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Willingness to work with children ages 6 weeks-8 years.
  • Ability to hear, speak, and see.
