Job Summary

Newport Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide on-site nursing and attendant care to adolescents/young adults residing in our facilities. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for administering medications, obtaining and documenting vital signs, and evaluating medical complaints/concerns from residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications as prescribed by program regulations
  • Obtain and document vital signs in the medical record
  • Evaluate medical complaints/concerns from residents during on-site hours and relay information to appropriate NP/MD
  • Complete treatment plans when indicated, provide direct care and nursing services to clients as prescribed by program regulations, and client health screening
  • Monitor chronic health conditions, respiratory distress, and seizures
  • Maintains records, including but not limited to Medication Administration Record, medical records, medical charts, infection control log etc.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings as needed
  • Comply with all mandated reporting requirements, biohazard program requirements, medical protocols, infection control, etc.
Requirements
  • Possess a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse License in state applying for work
  • Experience in residential nursing a plus
  • Must pass the applicable state/agency background check required for the work location jurisdiction, prior to employment
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Must possess a current and valid CPR certification or obtain within the first 30 days of employment
