Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Adult Reconstructive Surgeon to join our team at the University of Colorado. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching, and research in the field of adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations to assess and treat acute and chronic medical problems.
  • Provide direct patient care to a specified patient population, including writing prescriptions and completing FMLA and other forms as needed.
  • Participate in pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including writing orders for narcotics and other scheduled drugs.
  • Contribute to inpatient care, consultation, and coverage in the emergency room.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
  • Coordinate patient care and support staff within the clinic, ensuring smooth operation.
  • Write progress notes on patient charts, maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in on-call coverage of Broomfield Hospital and Longs Peak Hospital for orthopedic surgery.
  • Provide health education to patients and families, training and supervising medical students, residents, and other health professionals.
  • Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Adult Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Completion of a 5-year residency and a 1-year fellowship.
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in developing a clinical practice and working together as an orthopedic group in a hybrid academic-private practice setting.
  • Participation in our resident/fellowship education program.
