Biosecurity Specialist

Daybreak Foods is seeking a highly skilled Biosecurity Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of biosecurity and access control at our facilities.

• Implement and maintain effective biosecurity protocols to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases
• Control access to our facilities and ensure all visitors, vendors, and contractors undergo proper decontamination and disinfection procedures
• Conduct daily inspections of pressure washers, truck/car wash equipment, and related systems to ensure proper functioning and maintenance
• Inspect high-pressure hoses and fittings, and report any defects or issues to the Mill Manager or Maintenance department
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards
• Report needed safety and equipment supplies to the Mill Manager
• Secure entrance to our property by controlling traffic and ensuring authorization and documentation for entry
• Notify departments of truck arrivals and ensure PO numbers match
• Document and track chemical usage
• Notify the Manager of unauthorized vehicles and report any biosecurity concerns or hazards
• Use pressure washers to disinfect incoming visitor traffic and oversee the decontamination and disinfection of all oncoming vehicles
• Perform daily inspections of company vehicles and ensure biosecurity by decontaminating and disinfecting all company vehicles kept on site

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalency required
• Valid Driver's License required
• Technical Training (provided)
• Working knowledge of pressure washers and their components
• Ability to read, speak, and write English
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Ability to operate handheld radios and interact with the public
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
