Amerantbank is looking for a Tax Provision Specialist to join their team. This role involves supporting the corporate tax manager in period tax provision calculations, tax compliance activities, and extract of data and compilation of necessary schedules for completion of the tax return calculations and filing of applicable federal and state tax returns and extensions.

  • Compiling necessary data from the general ledger and other relevant data for periodic analyses and reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax related journal entries.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision and related workpapers for the consolidated group.
  • Preparing the quarterly tax provision using the FIN18 approach.
  • Calculating and forecasting the tax rate for the current year.
  • Calculating the deferred tax rate.
  • Analyzing and preparing the calculation of required federal and state quarterly income tax payments.
  • Maintaining the inventory of the Deferred Tax Asset for all U.S. entities in the group.
  • Reconciling tax general ledger accounts and other accounts as needed

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting, taxation or related field. A minimum of three years of experience in corporate tax and/or analyzing Financial Statements in a regulatory environment is highly desired. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $90,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
