Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Technician-CC or Senior Accounting Technician-CC to join our team at the County Executive Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and financial tasks, including financial record keeping, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform financial record keeping and accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of the County's annual budget and financial reports.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and train staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience with responsibility for the maintenance of books through trial balance.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience with responsibility for the maintenance of books through trial balance, or one (1) year of experience as an Accounting Technician-Confidential for the County of Ventura.
  • College-level accounting coursework may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, budgeting and financial reporting, and financial analysis and planning.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and make recommendations to management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
