Job Description

The Telemetry Technician is a critical member of our care team, responsible for continuous electrocardiographic monitoring, interpretation, and notification of patients' heart rhythms. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms from a centralized telemetry department.
  • Recognize and interpret cardiac rhythms, completing measurement and documentation per policy and department standards.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the care team regarding rhythm interpretation.
  • Provide customer service, responding to frequent and potentially complex questions from internal and external customers in a timely, positive, and professional manner.
  • Assist in supporting daily department workflow through effective coordination, communication, and prioritization of department activities.
  • Collaborate with biomedical and information services to maintain and troubleshoot electronic monitoring equipment.
  • Perform daily inventory and cleaning of telemetry monitoring boxes.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
Work Environment

The Telemetry Technician will work in a fast-paced, general medical/surgical/cardiac Intensive Care Unit with a 22-bed capacity. The ideal candidate will be able to move freely and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
