Job Overview

The Army National Guard is seeking skilled individuals to join our team as Satellite Communication Systems Operators and Maintainers. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our military missions by installing, operating, and maintaining strategic and tactical multi-channel satellite communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transmit, receive, and log messages according to military procedures
  • Encode and decode classified messages
  • Operate telephone switchboards
  • Install, maintain, and operate communications equipment
  • Monitor and respond to emergency calls

Advanced Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on technical issues to other Soldiers
  • Identify and report electronic jamming and deception
  • Apply appropriate electronic countermeasures

Required Skills

  • Ability to work with various types of communication equipment
  • Working knowledge of codes
  • Maintenance and care of communications equipment

Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
