Position Overview: The role of Facility Maintenance Technician is designed to ensure that educational buildings and properties are kept in optimal condition, guaranteeing cleanliness and safety in accordance with the standards of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport materials to designated areas to ensure timely delivery.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and structures as necessary, including tasks such as painting and inspecting mechanical systems to uphold safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Utilize janitorial equipment and tools for snow and ice removal from pathways and entrances to maintain safe access.
  • Conduct daily cleaning operations, including classrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other assigned spaces, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Set up rooms for various group activities and school functions.
  • Complete work orders and manage documentation related to the role, including ordering necessary supplies in advance.
  • Respond to urgent situations, evaluating their severity and notifying the appropriate departments.
  • Ensure the security of facilities by managing access, including unlocking buildings and setting alarm systems.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and work at elevated heights.

Work Schedule:
  • Full-Time: Regular hours at designated locations.
  • Part-Time: Flexible hours across multiple locations with an hourly compensation structure.
