Fit and/or assemble, adjust and repair subassemblies and major assemblies. Job complexity ranges from simple, repetitive tasks to fairly repetitive but difficult tasks depending upon product. Requires use of a wide range of hand and power tools both electrical and mechanical.Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Assembly Technician: Review work orders or blueprints to ensure work are performed according to specifications.Visually or metrically inspect assembly for conformance to instructions.Repeat actions for all of the same product type each time assembled.Follow oral/written instructions to connect two or more parts of a product.Non-essential Duties for Assembly Technician: Communicate with supervisor and other assemblers.Assist in other production areas as needed.Accurately complete daily labor card and submit at conclusion of shift.Follow all safety procedures.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Assembly Technician: Read and accurately interpret blueprints.Possess basic technical knowledge of hand and power tools and their safe operation.Able to position and manipulate parts and assemblies with the hands demonstrating manual dexterity.Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to comprehend and initiate solutions to complications as they arise.Experience and Education for Assembly Technician: High School Diploma or GED1 - 2 years manufacturing experience.Equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements for Assembly Technician: Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment when on the shop floor:Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.Must Be Able To: Work safely in a fast paced environment.Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
