About the RoleAsh is looking for a Controller to lead the company's financial and accounting operations. As the Controller, you will be a core part of the company's leadership team, responsible for maintaining and improving financial systems and processes. You will oversee all accounting-related functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide accurate and timely financial reporting. You will report directly to the CEO and have a critical role in supporting strategic planning and decision-making through detailed financial analysis and forecasting. Initially, you will be a team of one with the opportunity to build out the finance function as we scale.
Responsibilities- Financial and Accounting Leadership: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Ensure the integrity of financial records and the accuracy of financial reporting. Implement and maintain strong financial controls and processes.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards. Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports, and oversee internal and external audits.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making. Work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to set financial targets and monitor performance against those targets.
- Cost Management and Efficiency: Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Implement processes to optimize financial operations and enhance overall financial health.
- Team Management and Development: Build and manage a multifaceted team that spans finance and accounting. Lead recruitment, training, and development efforts to ensure the team is skilled, motivated, and aligned with our growth and efficiency goals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and financial rigor.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between finance, operations, and other departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment of financial and operational objectives. Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies, to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
