Position Overview:

As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking meals according to established recipes for our residents, visitors, and staff. Your contributions will ensure that every dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and serving areas.
  • Plan cooking schedules to ensure timely meal service.
  • Monitor food quality through routine temperature checks and taste tests.
  • Set up food in serving areas and replenish as necessary.
  • Ensure portion control during food preparation and serving.
  • Manage leftover perishables in storage and incorporate them into future meals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, flexibility, compassion, and reliability. Previous experience in an assisted living or memory care environment is advantageous, though all applicants are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a culinary setting, whether institutional or restaurant.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, residents, and family members.
  • Able to address inquiries or concerns from various sources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic math skills for routine calculations.
  • Ability to make straightforward decisions that impact the immediate department.
