Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering individualized, goal-oriented nursing care that advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of patients and their families.
The nurse must understand the principles of growth and development and possess the skills necessary to provide optimal care to the patient population served.
The RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination, expected to work autonomously while utilizing evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:- Adhere to established standards of excellence.
- Maintain ongoing education and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide care in a research-based environment.
- Exercise independent judgment in interdisciplinary patient care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to meet patient needs.
- Plan, implement, and revise nursing care with a focus on patient safety.
- Incorporate education into nursing practice.
- Document relevant patient data accurately.
- Participate in professional practice development through committee involvement and staff meetings.
- Maintain positive relationships and conduct to enhance the quality of care and departmental operations.
- Engage in continuous learning through collaboration with team members and educational programs.
- Complete mandatory training, including infection control and safety standards.
- Follow guidelines for infection prevention and patient safety.
- Seek cost-effective solutions without compromising care quality.
- Report safety issues and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification required within 90 days of hire.
- STABLE certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Texas State RN License or compact license required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred, MSN desirable.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Mother/Baby nursing required.
