Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support the In-patient Imaging Department on a PRN basis. This role involves performing nuclear medicine exams to provide images of organs, evaluate body functions, and analyze biological specimens to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures, and administer radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies.
  • Operate radioisotope equipment to detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patient bodies, ensuring technical quality of images.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze biologic specimens, and prepare data for interpretation.
  • Perform quality assurance on imaging equipment and assist with accreditation applications.
  • Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency calls within the department and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
