The primary function of this position is to perform work using the heart catheterization tool, which involves inserting a catheter into the arteries of the heart to diagnose and sometimes treat certain heart conditions.

As a cardiac catheterization lab nurse, you will assist physicians with the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators in patients suffering from heart conditions and heart disease. You will also assist with procedures such as angioplasties, valvuloplasties, stent placements, cardiac catheterization, and other catheterization procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac catheterization procedures using the heart catheterization tool
  • Assist physicians with the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators
  • Assist with procedures such as angioplasties, valvuloplasties, stent placements, and cardiac catheterization
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or complications
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care

Requirements

  • BLS certification
  • Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience

  • Preventing Medication Errors certification
