Trinity Health Corporation is seeking highly motivated and dedicated nursing students to join our team as Nurse Externs in Med/Surg, Progressive Care, and ICU units. As a Nurse Extern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment while working under the supervision of our experienced nursing staff.
Responsibilities- Perform admission assessments and initiate clinical paths/care plans
- Document care given on appropriate records
- Pre-op preparation, teaching, and reviewing charts
- Monitoring and maintaining various medical equipment, including feeding pumps, JP drains, and heating pads
- Performing clinical skills, such as Foley insertion, patient positioning, and NG insertion
- Current enrollment in the third or last year of an accredited RN or BSN program
- Successful completion of the first year of nursing clinicals and skills validation through an accredited ADN nursing program
- Maintain current nursing knowledge and BLS certification
- Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems
