Job Overview

Dynavac, a leading engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking an Electrical Controls Design Specialist to join their team in Hingham, MA. This role will be responsible for producing and overseeing the implementation of controls and process engineering designs as the company continues to grow and thrive by developing systems for thin film deposition, vacuum processes, and thermal vacuum system applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience with electric controls design plans, including power generation, control systems, panel layouts, junction boxes, distributed control systems, robotics, circuitry, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). They should also be able to adapt and modify electric controls engineering options, develop and evaluate new electric controls engineering architectures and algorithms, and prepare layout drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing detailed control strategy and sequence of operations for process functional design specifications
  • Creating PLC and HMI software programs, implementing software, and performing functional tests on equipment
  • Generating wiring schematics, PLC I/O count, and calculating wiring sizes to operate pumping systems, thermal systems, and process equipment
  • Implementing electric controls design by providing installation, start-up, and technical support; troubleshooting and resolving production problems related to electric controls engineering design
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Educational background in Electrical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Proven programming skills with PLC controllers (Allen Bradley, GE)
  • Demonstrable HMI programming experience. Labview is a plus
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, and other Windows based software
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a wide range of benefits for eligible employees – health, dental and vision insurance; life and disability insurance; vacation, personal/sick time and paid holidays.
