Candidate ProfileOur client is in search of skilled Harbor Pilots to join the Terminal Pilotage Operations Division. This division is tasked with delivering a professional pilotage service, managing vessel traffic systems, and providing support services at all Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals. The goal is to facilitate the safe, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible seaborne export and import of crude oils and hydrocarbon products, adhering to the best practices of the shipping industry.
Your primary responsibility will be to safely berth and unberth vessels at North Pier and manage the unberthing of vessels at Sea Island, accommodating vessels up to 350,000 DWT without restrictions. You will report administratively to the Chief Pilot while being functionally accountable to the senior Harbor Pilot.
Essential Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science from an accredited Maritime Studies College with a minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least 4 years in Harbor Pilot or related seagoing roles.
- Alternatively, a High National Diploma from a recognized Maritime Studies College with 6 years of experience, including at least 4 years in Harbor Pilot or seagoing roles.
- Maritime Studies discipline is required for both HND and Bachelor graduates.
- Completion of a Tanker Safety Course, along with Basic training in Oil/Chem/Gas.
- Helicopter and Underwater Escape Training Course certification is also required.
- Conduct safety inspections of all vessels prior to berthing or loading.
- Guide deep-loaded vessels to safe anchorage and prepare them for departure upon the ship's Master's request.
- Investigate incidents of oil pollution related to ships and piers, and compile reports.
- Maintain a permanent official log of all vessels handled.
- Ensure radio communication with vessels in the operational area, advising on ballast conditions, berthing and unberthing times, and other pertinent information to facilitate ship movement.
- Perform additional duties as directed by Senior Harbor Pilot supervision.
- Coordinate with Pier personnel or mooring launches regarding the sequence of mooring line operations.
- Monthly Base Salary – competitive and aligned with similar roles within the company.
- Monthly Overbase – 25% of your monthly base salary.
