Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Acute Pulmonary Care team at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. As a Care Partner, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, focusing on promoting a positive patient experience and assisting with daily living activities and comfort measures.
  • Assist other healthcare providers with safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions, such as ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs.
  • Participate in hourly patient rounding, answer telephone and call lights promptly, and resolve patient concerns or escalate to the charge nurse if necessary.
  • Proactively offer assistance and comfort measures to patients and families, and present yourself in a positive and professional manner.
  • Document patient care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and communicate patient care concerns or emergencies to the RN or Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a State-approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; BLS Instructor certification preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed directions, strong interpersonal skills, and clear verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to document.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, and maintain a safe environment for patient care.
