Job Title: Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery

Lovelace Health System is committed to meeting the growing healthcare needs of the Albuquerque community. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery to join our team.

Job Summary

The Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the labor and delivery department. This includes supervising nursing staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff to achieve excellence in patient care
  • Monitor and evaluate quality and safety metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support departmental operations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure the department remains current and effective
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
  • A Master's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with 3 years in a management capacity
  • Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration is preferred
  • A current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing
