Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team at Gundersen Health System. As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for neurodiagnostic studies and performing procedures such as EEGs, EPs, NCSs, and EMGs.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for neurodiagnostic studies and perform procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Obtain thorough patient histories and provide education and support during testing procedures.
- Work with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to facilitate services, provide consultation and education, and generate accurate reports for physicians.
- Maintain accurate department documentation and archive patient testing records.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and skills related to pattern recognition, medical and pharmacological conditions, and electrical safety.
- Post-high school education in a specialized field, such as Electroneurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic program accredited by CAAHEP.
- 6 months of experience as an Electroneurodiagnostic Technician or Electrodiagnostic Technician.
- Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (REEGT) or Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (REDT) certification within 2.5 years of hire date.
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
This role is exposed to infectious diseases and requires working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Physical DemandsThis role requires frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and repetitive actions, as well as the ability to push and pull heavy equipment.
