Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the Center's buildings and grounds. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks while utilizing eco-friendly cleaning products to promote a healthier environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization of restrooms and common areas following established protocols.
  2. Dust and wipe down furniture; maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming; manage waste disposal effectively.
  3. Assist in setting up facilities for various events, including meetings and classrooms.
  4. Perform floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, cleaning, buffing, and applying finishes to hard surfaces.
  5. Utilize and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, ensuring proper usage and care.
  6. Secure buildings by locking and unlocking as required, reporting any security concerns.
  7. Follow safety guidelines when handling chemicals and cleaning supplies.
  8. Participate in snow removal and debris clearance around the premises.
  9. Engage in ongoing training related to cleaning techniques and safety practices.
  10. Support recycling efforts and manage inventory of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Employees will frequently be active throughout their shifts, engaging in various cleaning and maintenance tasks.
