Senior Construction Manager

PIC Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to manage large-scale construction projects at a college university in Florida.
Job Summary:The Senior Construction Superintendent will report directly to the Regional VP of Operations and be responsible for the direct oversight of the building process, including management of all project scheduling, coordinating and supervising craft employee activities in one or more trade groups, and disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendent on larger projects, and on smaller projects craft activities, including determining the method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, and documenting actual hours worked.
- Coordinate assigned work to align with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
- Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
- Assist in resolving construction problems, including lack of productivity or work interfaces, as required.
- Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, and requisitioning required manpower, as necessary and applicable to the labor approach for the projects assigned.
- Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements, document, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Maintain liaison with other departments, such as Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and project schedule.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups.
- Prior experience with Commercial project scopes with scopes of $30M value or more.
- Prior hands-on experience with higher education projects.
- Project assignments that may require extended long-term temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites.
- In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units involved throughout the commissioning process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required at all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the company.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines professionally.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 8+ years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
