Warehouse Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse/Stock Associate to join our team at Southern States Cooperative. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring sales readiness and customer support at our service and cooperative locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process merchandise deliveries, verifying accuracy and inspecting items for damage or defects.
• Unload merchandise using proper equipment and manual lifting, and accurately store merchandise in warehouse racking or other designated locations.
• Perform showroom replenishment, restocking shelves and displays, and maintaining a neat and organized appearance.
• Operate industrial equipment, including forklifts, front-end loaders, and pallet jacks, and perform general facility maintenance tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with filling orders, lifting and accessing products, and loading merchandise into vehicles.
• Maintain regular communication with store leadership, providing timely information regarding receiving and inventory supply, customer orders, and other critical factors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Previous experience in a warehouse handling inventory and operating industrial equipment preferred.
• Forklift Certification required (or ability to obtain within a given period).
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Propane Certification may be required depending on location and state/federal regulations.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a variety of settings, including a warehouse environment, retail showroom, and occasionally outdoors. You may be exposed to hazards such as drafts, temperature changes, and hazardous materials. Ability to work extended hours and alternate schedules may be required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
• Ability to use hand/eye/foot coordination and perform repetitive motions while operating equipment.
