Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Driver - PRN to join our team at Trulee Evanston. As a Driver - PRN, you will be responsible for transporting residents to various destinations, including shopping, entertainment, worship, medical offices, and special events. You will also assist residents in and out of the bus, using the wheelchair lift and/or stairs as needed, and ensure the interior and exterior of the bus are clean and well-maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Drive daily and weekly route schedules to transport residents to various destinations.
  • Assist residents in and out of the bus, using the wheelchair lift and/or stairs as needed.
  • Conduct daily checks of bus operation, including fuel, oil, wipers, fluids, and interior and exterior lights.
  • Notify supervisor of concerns and needs, and maintain records and logs of internal and external service.
  • Fill the bus with gasoline and preapproved service stations.
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of the bus are clean and well-maintained.
  • Respond appropriately and in a safe manner in the event of unforeseen operational malfunctions.
  • Interact with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident's health to management as appropriate.
  • Respond appropriately to resident emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to established protocol.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year successful experience of operating a bus.
  • Prior experience working with older adults is preferred.
  • Ability to understand conflict solution and has is timely.
  • Exceptional communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with older adults.
  • Knowledgeable regarding resident rights, confidentiality, and team member handbook.
