The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the Neurology Department at LewisGale Medical Center. As a PCT, you will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the patient care team.
Responsibilities- Participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
- Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assist with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
- Change bed linens as needed.
- Serve as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- This is a full-time Night Shift position with rotating weekends.
