Job Summary

The YMCA of Greenville is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for leading swim lessons and aquatics programs in a safe and effective manner, ensuring the well-being of all participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver engaging swim lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to member and guest needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new swim programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • At least 16 years old (15 years old with American Red Cross Certification or similar certifying agency)
  • Current swim instructor certification, CPR, First Aid, & AED Certification (American Red Cross or YMCA) or complementary experience as an instructor/coach.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Able to teach and communicate aquatics skills to participants.
  • Able to communicate and enforce policies and procedures to members, program participants, and guests.
  • Able to react quickly and properly in emergency situations.
