Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support our operations within the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. As a CNA, you will provide a range of assistance and support for Veteran patients, including personal patient care, support for diagnostic procedures, and basic patient instruction under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nurses in the performance of diagnostic examinations by monitoring vital signs, preparing and positioning the patient, or performing routine diagnostic tests.
  • Provide a full range of patient care to complex patients with physical and/or behavioral problems, including personal nursing care, support duties, and treatments.
  • Use good communication skills in dealing with patients and maintain a safe/clean work environment.
  • Enter specific information onto the patients' records using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a CNA by the CDPH.
  • Trained and experienced in hospital nursing.
  • At least two years experience as a CNA.
  • Capable of providing nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients.
  • Active and maintains current BLS certification.
